Your nights are passing slowly, because of a person snoring near you and keeping you awake for hours? Probably you are often wondering what produces that sound and how it can be prevented. You do not care that you are exhausted every morning. Often it’s hard to wake up and get up, because you fell asleep just before dawn.
Everyone who thinks snoring is innocent should change their mind. It is not only dangerous for health but also affects your reputation. You will not get good results at work. You will have problems with the boss. Other people will think that you are disoriented in time and space. To help yourself, try to discover the cause of your snoring and try to stop it.
Snoring causes – physical disorders and life habits
– Problems with the nose and sinuses
Seasonal allergies and sinus infections can cause nasal swelling. This makes breathing difficult and the result is snoring.
– Nose cartilage
Nose cartilage is a thin bulkhead dividing the left and right nasal passage. With cartilage deviation, this barrier is inclined to one side and then one pass is narrower than the other. It is exactly the different size of nasal passages that can affect snoring.
The severe forms of this cartilage disorder lead to obstructive apnea (choking) during sleep.
– Soft palate
It’s muscle tissue on the back of the roof of the mouth. It relaxes during sleep. Because of an allergy it can be swollen, and with aging will lose more tonus. During the flow of air it closes the breathing passages and comes to its trembling. It automatically produces an unpleasant sound manifestation.
It is a little part on your palate. It hangs from the roof of your mouth and vibrates during the passage of the air. Some people have a long cut and / or large, thick palate.
They are still called mandules or tonsils. They are located in the back of the throat, along the sides. Increased tonsils may be one of the causes of snoring. This is also the case with an excessively enlarged third tonsil. It’s called an adenoid. It is recommended to remove them because tonsils are the most common cause of snoring in children
– Narcotics and medicines for sleeping and against allergies
In general, you can relax the throat, upper palate and nose muscles too much. That makes snoring worse.
Consuming several drinks or excessive alcohol consumption before sleep can also relax your muscles. To prevent snoring, simply stop drinking.
– Excessive body weight
The larger neck and enlarged throat tissue close the respiratory tract and interfere with airflow. The air interferes with the current and creates a sound that makes the people often have nightmares.
– REM sleep phase
Phase in which dreams develop. It starts 70 to 90 minutes after falling into a sleep. During this stage, muscle tones are particularly relaxed. Then a narrow passage between the relaxed muscles is created. The air circulates through that narrow passage and produces an unpleasant sound.
Snoring during pregnancy is a common occurrence. This is due to fatigue during the day. There are frequent cases of apnea in the sleep, more precisely, choking while sleeping in a pregnant woman. There are assumptions that this can harm the unborn baby.
